The other night me and Jt went out to Topsail Island to watch the sunset… Then decided, hey- why not just stay all night and watch the sunrise?

So we did.

After a night of alternating between inside the truck [with the heat] and out on the truck bed [with the rain], gnats and sand fleas, and a vehicle not starting for 4 hours the morning…

We decided that there was no one we would rather have endured [i mean enjoyed] it with.

Thankful to have a man who is always up for an adventure!

Yes, just yes.

The Wait.

September 1st I will no longer have a job. My nanny gig ends the day before. I quit my previous job because I felt led to leave, to look for something different, something that would allow me to devote more fully my time to leading worship at church and glorifying God with the gifts He has given me.

I trust that He will provide. I trust that He has a plan. I am active in my wait, but [naturally] it has its hardships and pains.

Psalm 27:14
“Wait for The Lord;
Be strong and take heart
And wait for The Lord.”

I came across this verse last night. A sweet confirmation from The Lord that He WILL provide… And as for me, I will be strong and take heart in this waiting. And I will be ready to give Him all the glory when He comes through for me in the situation.

Good Monday Morning to you.

Remembered at about 7:15am that I don’t have to be at work until 11! Today’s going to be a good day, I can feel it.

Coffee, bed, and Jesus… Looks good on you, Monday.

Last night was date night!

Aaaand because I have to most amazing boyfriend on the planet, he surprised me with a double date with my parents! [why didn’t get a picture of the four of us?!]

We went to Hops Supply Company [hopssupplycompany.com] and it was excellent! All around. Great drink [i recommend the prickly pear mojito], delicious food, wonderful service… And of course- the best company this side of Wilmington.

A simply perfect night.

Love this.

i would like to have this.
over the past few months I have experienced a lot of change, transition, tough news, and new beginnings. i would [and still do, sometimes] find myself trying to come up with immediate solutions for, well, everything.
but sometimes that just doesn’t always work.
i am learning that sometimes you need to just sit with it. sometimes you need time to process. sometimes you need time to realize it’s not the end of the world. sometimes you need time to just sit. and think. and wait. and then get up, and move past whatever it is you are going through.

My friend Cindy and I rented paddle boards on Monday. It was our second time, and I had forgotten how much of a blast it is. [of course, we might have spent half the time simply laying out on our boards instead of actually paddling…]

it was $25 for about 6 hours, so we had plenty of time to stash our boards, eat lunch at Tower 7, grab Nye’s Ice Cream Sandwiches, and get a little beach time in, too.

All in all, a pretty darn good day.

i want need these.

This past weekend it was Grace’s [“21”] birthday. Spur of the moment, Emma decided to drive up from Atlanta to be here. It was a weekend for eating, going out, visiting our parents, and wondering why we don’t all live in the same place already?! Miss these girls already, but it’s always such a wonderful thing when we leave to know that it [hopefully] won’t ever be too long before we are together once again.

Also, it’s good to be back tumblr.
